Gil Rigoulet


In 1984, Gil Rigoulet became the first regular photographer for Le Monde newspaper, with which he collaborated for more than 20 years. In 1986, Robert Doisneau presented his images in Photo Magazine and Christian Caujolle exhibited him at the Deligny Swimming Pool for "Vivre en maillot de bain", alongside Joseph Koudelka, Marc Riboud, William Klein, Helmut Newton, and Jacques-Henri Lartigue. He regularly collaborates with many national and international press magazines, including Géo, Grands Reportages, Elle, The Sunday Times, La Repubblica, La Stampa, and El País. Gil is now known for his Street Photography of the 70s and 80s, his "Body & Water" series - from which "Molitor 85" is taken -, "Rockabilly 82", "Landscapes in Motion" in black & white film. After an intimate work entitled "Mes jours, mes nuits" and "Paysages sacrés" made in Polaroid 665 in the 2000s, he returned to the world of the 1980s with "Pola Pool" and became the French ambassador for Polaroid Originals. His work has been exhibited, among others, at the Rencontres d'Arles, the Museum of Natural History, at Artcurial, at the Montparnasse Museum, in Paris Photo by agnès b...
